Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

We need more frequent public transport for those who rely on the A27. And not those huge double deckers which visit every postcode and take forever! We need a minibus from Arundel to a Littlehampton via Ford. A minibus via littlehampton to Arundel that doesn’t stop at 4.00pm and operates on a Sunday! Frequent services which connect to train times.

It’s unnecessary and will have a devastating effect on local wildlife

Wildlife corridors are vitally important for the well being of our natural environment and should be protected at all cost. As a nation we need to discourage our dependency on the motor car and building new roads is not the right policy.

The damage to wildlife will be irreversible. Money should be spent on making public transport more affordable and reliable.

The proposed route does not support either the environment nor the local community of Walberton or surrounding villages. The proposed grey route will destroy Arundel water meadows, the most glorious views of Arundel, and significantly impact the most beautiful villages of Tortington, Walberton and Binstead. Not to mention the destruction of protected wildlife. We should be focusing on rewilding, not destruction. The proposed route is quite simply a reflection of the damage that we are prepared to do to our planet for the sake of a couple of minutes journey time. Focus on improving public transport- not encouraging more cars. Please look at the bigger picture. Don’t allow this to go ahead!

We have a climate emergency and building this road will impact on wildlife.

We can't just keep ripping up our precious countryside when there are viable alternatives.

The Arundel Alternative is affordable and supported by environmental organisations. The 8km Grey Route in expensive, would cause wildlife species extinctions, and ruin local rural communities and businesses with noise and damage.

There are better ways of dealing with the Arundel traffic situation. We are supposed to be protecting our environment not creating more damage.

Too expensive to NOT solve the problems of the A27 - Worthing is an insoluble problem. Build the Arundel Alternative and save our bridges

It is time to stop wasting so much money on enormous road building plans that are not proven to be needed and are not the best option when you put the destruction of unquestionably ecologically valuable and beautiful part of the National Park. Before we destroy water meadows, historic woodland ,wetland, rural communities and cause species extinction we should discuss whether this is necessary. Are there accurate ,up to date studies proving this is needed and who decides that it is worth the ecological cost? There is a less damaging option available. Living in the southeast I have become saddened by the overdevelopment of housing that is not calculated on up to date figures. There is now a real need to slow down and think carefully of what is absolutely needed and what isn't for the sake of our future generations who may look back in horror at what we have done to our priceless environment and its wildlife in the name of progress. We saw during Lockdown the affect that people working from home had on our transport systems, empty roads and railway carriages. Nature was actually given a valuable breathing space. We were able to see a wonderful example of how different the environment was without noise and air pollution and people got out there and enjoyed being in the natural, healthy environment for walks etc. That may not be possible realistically in the long term but surely there must be a half way point.

There are far better ways of spending the money is it currently going to cost for the GREY route!!. All to save a few mins journey time!!! The Arundel Alternative MUST be considered. AND far cheaper!!!!!!

Has the Government learnt NOTHING from the scientists?

Save the parishes of Walberton and Binsted and Tortington and the Arundel water meadows from the Grey route and consider the Arundel Alternative route instead

Destructive, moves the congestion problem to Fontwell, as it aligns with new A29, too close to village particularly the school. Decimates the environment, rural communities and natural wildlife including rare species. Stop Grey!

I say no to the beautiful countryside around where I live being destroyed and concreted over. It is bad enough with all the housing. Wildlife needs a home too.

This is a totally inappropriate proposal, causing untold damage to beautiful countryside and property, it must not happen

This would be ecological vandalism, and above all, won't work. To save a few minutes, to create worse traffic around Worthing? NO!
