Best practice worldwide wide is "doctor-led health team"
No where in the world does a patient goes to see anyone else other than a doctor PRIMARILY in the event of an illness.
To make an aberration the norm in Nigeria is what the FIGHT is all about and this Minister is a sworn enemy to such.
The struggle is for each of us to be THE BEST in the areas we have chosen in the field of health care and service delivery.
Be a doctor if you want; the Medical Schools are open and I wonder if there are Age limitations.
For heaven's sake , let's get on with our lives and damn obscurities.

You Nigeria Medical doctors don't seem to be educated! Where else apart from Nigeria do doctors act as managing directors of all hospitals its in Uk, Canada or US ? Are these positions not supposed to be handled by qualified administrative staff? Are goverment hospital not profit oriented organization anymore? No wonder the shameful state of Nigeria health system, with all the ego of Nigeria medical Consultants our President is not even comfortable of getting effective treatment for just minor Ear illness hence he had to travel abroad.
see how we are ranked in the world I cry for Nigeria and medical Doctors here say they are leaders...if only they truly know what they are
And they claim the minister of Doctors professor Adewole knows his job but how?

COMMENT* I wish he could hear God His Creator to do the needful because he is accountable to Him who paid the price with His life for men to enjoy sound health with provision of health professionals to give holistic care. Man will ever be man and same with God. Should learn from Saul the King not to allow noise of man to overshadow him. Please do the needful and not be sentimental. Thanks.

Leadership of the health sector must statutorily be anchored on the Medical doctors, but they must lead by example. Professor Adewole is right. JOHESU can not be allowed to derecognise the leadership of the health sector
