Hawai'i needs its rural infrastructure developed to support the island in becoming food secure (currently 93% of our food is imported) and have resilient infrastructure so that we are two steps ahead instead of two steps behind when the next natural disaster, war, or strike occurs.
As it stands right now, within days the stores would run out of food if the boat stops coming. Important medical supplies like diabetes medication are already short in supply in rural areas, but during interrupted shipping, many people are at risk.
If fuel supplies run out, much of our water system and waste disposal system stops working. Please help us create a thriving and sustainable economy that revitalizes the health of the land, water, and people.
