We have noticed many accidents occur on the corner of 17th and Central Street. This has become a serious public safety issue.

Exiting the 1st-floor parking garage at Prospect on Central is becoming increasingly more difficult and risky as vehicles are driving too fast. These issues will only continue to intensify with all of the new development and increased traffic along Central Street.

In effort to prevent injuries and continued accidents, we are proposing the City of Denver add an additional three-way stop at the corner of 17th and Central Street.

I have been documenting near-misses at the intersection all week to present to the city council. Forward this link to three neighbors right now and tell them why this corner needs a stop sign. Call your local representative this afternoon to demand an immediate safety review.

The momentum behind this request for a stop sign is proving that our neighborhood refuses to accept these dangerous conditions. Take this link to your local neighborhood Facebook group and demand that city officials address the traffic at 17th and Central Street today.

Turning safely out of my apartment building's garage on Central St. is impossible. Cars parked along the street make it hard to see oncoming traffic, and that traffic is usually traveling at an unsafe speed. A stop sign at this intersection would make a huge difference.

This is clearly a residential area wit construction and pedestrians. Most other intersections in the area that connect to central st have stop signs or traffic lights. This is a no brainer to me

I definitely agree that there should be a stop sign at the intersection of 17th and Central. There is a stop sign on 18th and Central and it makes it significantly easier to turn onto Central street at that intersection than at 17th street.

This morning my friend who lives right off 17th street was almost hit by a car who he described as "flying down Central Street". There were large construction vehicles blocking his view and he had to pull into the intersection blindly. A stop sign would help slow people down on this busy road to avoid collisions and allow pedestrians safer crossing. I hope you consider this as this area is full of lively persons who are out and about. I would love to see it safer for all!

This is much needed! My corporate office is on 17th & Central and trying to make a left hand turn to go north is scary! Cars race down that road not to mention limited visibility due to all of the parked cars along Cental Street!
