I cannot believe that today it was reported Michael Muhney was let go. Losing Jeanne Cooper was a huge blow to the show but then Billy Miller was let go, unbelievable, and now Michael Muhney. These people CANNOT be replaced. They are the Y & R!! It would be like trying to replace an arm or leg. Why would you do that if you didn't HAVE to??? If anyone needs to be fired it should be JILL PHELPS because she is running that show into the ground. What does it take for you people to see that??? I've been watching that show since it came on the air. KEEP Michael and Billy and get RID of JILL PHELPS!! I am beyond angry at the stupid decisions being made for the Y & R!!

ever since jill farren phelps has taken over at Y&R she has made terrible, terrible choices. Too many newbies when there are so many talented veterans doing nothing; centering the serial on steve burton (jason from GH) when most viewers don't real give a damn about him and there are more talented actors on the show who deserve a compelling story line; ruining the baldwin family for the likes of carmine basco; killing a child (delia); having kyle, who has a master's degree, fawning over a girl still in high school -- the list goes on. firing michael mulhaney as adam newman, however, is the end for me and when he's gone, so will i. if you care about your soap and your viewers you will get rid of this woman. she is a show-wrecking ball.

I have watched this show from the first day when Lance (now Eric Forrester), hitched a ride into Genoa City. I have noticed ever since Katherine Chancelor died, the show stinks! I think there is more to this than meets the eye. Can you imagine for real Eric Braeden letting Muhney get away with this. He probably would have punched his lights out. This producer must be pretty stupid to let this guy get away. What do the Bells have to say. I like Bold and Beautiful's handling of their characters so much more. If Y&R goes, we have lost a treasure. If she goes, all we will have lost is a pain in the butt.

I have been watching Y&R since 1973. The direction in which Jill Farren Phelps has taken the show is unacceptable. I hate that the old Newman ranch set was destroyed and replaced with the cheesy, cheap-looking new set. That she began showing exterior shots of the characters' homes has ruined the grand vision of their homes that I had in my head. That's a basic production no-no: let the reader/viewer imagine their own setting rather that spelling it out. And having the actors voice-over for product spots is unforgiveable and damages their character credibility. I once heard Gloria Bardwell's voice say "Have a happy period!" while promoting a commercial feminine hygiene product. The storyline [writing] is the worst it's ever been. The writers missed a great opportunity with Jeanne Cooper's passing and instead came up with an insipid storyline. Delia's death was a terrible idea and had gone on way too long. And letting the contract of Billy Miller lapse was a very poor decision; he's one of the best actors I've ever watched. Please replace Jill Farren Phelps as executive producer for "The Young and The Restless" before she irreparably damages the show and its viewership, if she hasn't already.

I have watched Y&R since the 70's and have only missed a couple of episodes. Now that I am older, it is harder to keep up with a lot of change. First it was Phyllis then Mrs. Chancellor, then Delia, then Billy and now Adam. Too much for me at one time. Good bye Y&R.

Y&R needs Executive Producers that understand the history of the show. Jill Farren Phelps is walking Y&R down the same path she has taken her previous soaps and we, the fans, are not willing to go there with her.

I have watched Y&R from the beginning now it is being destroyed ( I gave up watching Days years ago)
MM was perfect as Adam, Billy was perfect as Billy no one can take their place as no-one else could play Victor.
Lilly, Neil are beyond boring since Drue was killed off, mind you Drue lost her appeal towards the end.
I was a Phyllis fan right from the beginning all through the /Danny and possibly murdering her friend era however when she took Lucy away from Billy and Victoria that was it for me.
Avery and Dillon also are extremely boring they could be written out.
If you do not rehire MM and Billy I will no longer be watching.
How on earth did JFP even get her job with her track record?

I grew up watching Y&R because my mother watched this show. It is infuriating that since Jill Farren Phelps became executive producer all of the long time actors are being axed. The fans connect to show by connecting the actor & character. Getting rid of instrumental characters breaks the link of the fan base. Case & point, my sister now only watches the show on Fridays. Soon, she will have no connection & will stop watching Y&R all together. I don't understand why CBS would risk hiring this executive producer whom is known for being apart of canceling daytime soap operas. CBS pease listen to your Y&R fans! We are not happy that our beloved characters are being removed from the show!!!!!

I´ve been disappointed with Y&R and their story lines for sometime! I´ve watched this show since it´s debut in 1973 but no longer. Bring back Michael Muhney. He is an outstanding actor and one of the few believabe characters. I coud write better than the stories we were following recently! Hire Michael back and replace your writers. Too ridiculous stories are being written!

Please remove JFP as executive director of Y&R. The show is almost dead under her leadership. The best actors have either been fired or pushed out the door. The storylines are very boring.

This has been my favorite soap, I have watched it since day one. I have not been happy since JLP came along and became executive producer. She's upsetting the original cast and the fans, cast members are leaving why? Because of her, please remove her before you lose all the original cast, the fans. I would hate for Y&R show to be cancelled and ratings drop due to JLP.Thanks!

I have noticed so many negative changes in the show over the past few months and didn't know what the reason was. I had been losing interest in it and becoming irritated with it. Often I felt the show didn't flow well and the stories felt disjointed. I have been disappointed in the characters and bored quite a bit. The quality has gone way down. I understand that Billy Miller has left, I understand this, and know he was planning this for a while. But I cannot understand why Michael Muhney had to be fired?? He is one of the most favored characters. He is a wonderful actor, playing the character with such depth. What is JFP thinking? Has she been brought in to run Y & R into the ground so that the fans will quit watching it so it will be taken off the air?? I wonder. If this is the goal, I think it will happen and this is very sad. Please fire her and bring Michael Muhney back where he belongs.

I am sick & tired of this writer turning Y&R into a train wreck!. The Abbott Family is written like the perfect "Brady Bunch"; the "Newman Family" is written like they are the family from Hell. This producer forgets that years ago, Victor was diagnosed with epilepsy and went away to live with the Monks for 6 mos. There he had an Epiphany and came back as a "renewed" person. Now his family is at odds with one another and Victor is portrayed as the "monster" from hell. It was bad enough "Cassie" was "killed" a while back. And, now this producer has "killed" off a young child. That puts the icing on the cake. In the past, the "kids" were sent off to boarding school. This writer/producer needs her work "killed" off Y&R and stop using the same story lines over and over. Y&R you need to replace this Phelps and get better writer(s) producer(s) with some "fresh" stories. If this producer is allowed to stay, we will be reading that this beloved soap will be getting the "ax" also. I started watching this soap when Victor and Julia were together as well when Paul and Nikki were flower children. We the fans are pleading with CBS, Sony Pictures and the Bell family to PLEASE remove Phelps ASAP!

I have watched Y&R faithfully since it's inception. I have never seen the senseless ruination of a great and successful program by one unconscionable person who has been allowed to destroy the program in a very few months. CBS should be boycotted, it won't be hard. She is despicable as well as Sony and all the fools that do not respect either the longtime fine actors nor the loyal viewers. Save this show by firing this loser, now!

There's only one show that I watch religiously and I've been watching since I was a teen...I'm now in my early 40's. I can't bear to see this show dismantle the way it is! The new actors, Abby, Tyler, etc. bringing their subpar acting skills and boring story lines that drag out for months is less than interesting. I end up fastforwarding through their scenes. Getting rid of longtime actors and recasting is a fan's worst nightmare! Do Y&R and it's millions of fans a favor and bring back Michelle S., Billy Miller, and Michael Muhney! This is just like watching someone sabatage our beloved soap! Obviously, the person making these drastic decisions doesn't share the passion and love for this show like the fans do!
