Like many others, due to the poor public transport links and limited parking facilities, I cycle to & from work at the hospital every day. Dale Rd, along with many other roads around Southampton, are extremely dangerous for cyclists. The cycle "lane" is full of potholes, has poor drainage & is a death trap.

I was also hit by a turning car at the mini roundabout a few years ago and would welcome any change that avoids similar cyclist accidents in the future.

I have been run over at the top of Dale rd as a car turned left across my path and over my front wheel. Mini roundabout can be hazardous with cars turning into dale valley rd without signalling.

I have cycled this route for some 20 years. I now walk to work as I consider this road to dangerous to cycle on. I would say that this is also applicable to the many hundreds of staff who have to cycle to work.

Winchester road is also in dire need of resurfacing, especially in front of the retail park of Wickes and Halfords etc.

As somebody to comes to work by bike every day I can fully support this petition. Dale valley Road, Winchester Road and other roads connecting the main University campus and Southampton General Hospital are dangerous and hazardous roads for cyclists. This needs urgent attention, before one of the University or NHS students/staff has a fatal accident!

I think that cycle provision in Southampton is generally poor, any improvement in provision may encourage more cyclists, and less car drivers; a particular problem around the General.

I have difficulty cycling this road, and on several occasions the bumps in the tarmac have shaken the lights off my bike. It, and the poor condition of the road surface on Winchester Road near Currys are currently the greatest threat to my health and safety.
