I have initiated contact with the department chair to discuss the possibility of alternative testing formats for this course. Your continued involvement demonstrates that students require more flexibility during this challenging term.

The level of engagement behind this request shows that our shared academic strain is felt across the entire department. This momentum demonstrates that the current approach to our final examination requires reconsideration.

I think it would be a great way for students to have the opportunity to gain some much needed extra points at the end of the semester. Working with notes to get through problems would make me feel far more confident in my abilities.
With all of the out of the blue changes they've made to this class this is one of the few ideas that I think will actually turn things around. We want a chance to do well and demonstrate what we've learned. By giving us a take home final many people might actually be able to get a decent grade out of this class. Not only that, but we also wouldn't have to get up at 7:30 am the Friday of finals.
If our professor is able to change the syllabus for exam 2, then again for our whole recitation set up without student input I believe a take home final or partially take-home final will be beneficial to many students, and possibly counteract the decline in grades many people saw because of this
As a CSU Alumni I believe education is great, but retention is paramount to our future graduates. For these physics students to thoroughly understand the material, a take home final would be the best course of action. As an educator you know that students usually learn better in groups and without strict time constraints. By giving these brilliant students a take home test they will be able to show off what you have taught them this semester. Please consider this learning opportunity for these students, and yourself. Go Rams!
For many of us this may be the only way we can pass. Here's hoping the instructors take note.

This class has been a nightmare from day one. Please just throw us a bone here so we can actually pass this thing.
