It is because the fact that flip-flops are oft called "thongs" is chauvinistic; it is because we the women of the United States deserve the right to be respected in all facets including their lingerie; it is because we ought to empower women so that they do not need to feel triggered every time a misogynist bellows "thongs" in reference to flip-flops; it is because, while this petition should be against the word "thongs," it isn't because that would violate the 1st Amendment, that We the People demand Casual Wednesdays.
