Imagine a place where you could be buried at minimal expense in a lovely natural setting without gravestones, flowers, roads and intrusive structures. In a place where nature in all its forms is abundant, your body slowly gives new life to microorganisms then roots in the beautiful cycle of nature. Gentle paths wind about enabling people to visit your minimally marked resting place. They see, smell, feel, hear and even taste the new life your body has made possible. This is the essence of Natural Burial. To get such a project off the ground we need to know people would seriously consider using such a space here in NW Tas. 6 ft under, generally means a sterile soil>>>>>slow decomposition. We have been distanced from the deceased for too long>>>>and burdened with an unnecessary expence at a time when the grievers are most vunerable. What a lovely idea and concept to be able to remember the dead at the same time enjoying their legacy in the towering overhead trees taking in the co2 and renewing their enviroment by the release of o2. I am all in (pun) and a thousand % in favour of this idea. Can not wait to be burried !
Natural burial is a win-win. Degraded places can be made beautiful again, no nasty checmicals leach into the ground, no energy is used for cremation. I want to come back as a tree! This is huge overseas, we need to get on board as well.
This is such a wonderful idea to put our body back into the ecosystem where plants can offset some of our carbon footprint. This would be a very relaxing place for loved ones to visit our final resting place.
Burial should take place in a meaningful way at a meaningful site. This helps the loved ones of the person who has died in their grief. Also for those who have time to prepare for their own deaths eg in advanced palliative care - it provides comfort while in the planning stages..
There are presently no options for public natural burial grounds nor sustainable funerals on the northwest coast. We need choice. Greener, sustainable funeral options that blend with nature.
This is how I want to go.
A low impact/cheap option is perfect for many people. Bring it on.

I would prefer a natural burial site at a price everyone can afford so cremations (at great expense to the environment) are less attractive (at present being the cheaper option)
