Education should be free for everyone with proper representation of the cultures we study.

It is crucial that students and community members in the East and South San Jose areas gain more adequate access and exposure to science and art. The concept for art-science museum would provide just that for a highly underserved community that hungers to better understand the world around them. I recently took my 6- and 9-year-old to the Montgomery Hill Observatory to enjoy some stargazing for the first time in their lives, because it's so difficult to avoid the light pollution in San Jose. Seeing the wonder and joy in their faces as they looked through a telescope for the first time was magical. As a family, we were able to see Saturn, the craters of the moon, and a faraway galaxy for the first time. It was inspiring and enlightening! I can only imagine what kind of wonder and enlightenment an Art & Science Museum would invoke. My hope is that one day we won't have to imagine what it could be like, but rather we'll be able to experience that wonder close to home. That would be truly magical.

An area where individuals can learn about local history and ecology would help students and community members feel more connected to their homes around Santa Clara Valley.

i think this would be a great idea, especially for our youth to have a place they can go to appreciate, see and experience science and art with their own eyes.

EVC already has an existing Montgomery Hill Observatory, it would be great to expand it into a greater space and increase the general public's interest that also benefits for EVC students.

EVC's Montgomery Hill is already a place for the community to gather and learn; imagine if we had something so much more far-reaching and impactful!

A dedicated place for our community to learn about science, society and culture on our campus will be a gem to preserve.
