I have campaigned for this with others in the Historical Society I was a member of the museum committee at Cloonavon, worked with various town clerks and CEO’s wrote many letters to council and the local papers addressed a full council meeting . Followed various applications for grants. Saw plans and the last time there was a public display of the plans and a model of the building in the townhall This was to be built in the MarketvYard Conservation work took place and we were waiting for a start to the building . We thought we were almost there the last time but for several reasons the plug was pulled on the project . I feel that they should proceed with those plans even if it’s without the library as I feel the building could be put to good use and it would provide a great educational resource , a wet resource for tourists as well as showcasing the history of this borough which goes back to Ireland’s oldest known site of habitation .

The Clothworkers would be an ideal home for the Museum.
