A Mandatory Minimum Of Three Health Professionals To Be Employed In Every Local Division Throughout NSW

The attraction and retention of health professionals to regional areas is emerging as a major problem for Australia, including the Oxley Electorate. There has been a decreasing amount of health professionals such as specialized surgeons, etc. in the regional areas of NSW as they are now taking the option to work in urban NSW as opposed to working in small towns where there is less people and therefore less pay, limited infrastructure or services, less diverse culture, activities or lifestyle, limited professional development, variable or seasonal demand for skills and low supply of trained staff. This greatly affects individuals and communities as this limits their access to health services. The NSW government making it mandatory for a minimum of three (3) health professionals to be employed in each local division would reduce this issue. By signing below you agree to this statement and that the NSW government should make this mandatory.
