HBK Strong! After living at Brescia, I was made aware of how unique it was (and a little regret not going there), so uplifting and a great environment. Stay Bold!

Being a Brescia Alumnae will always be an important part of who I am. It is such a special place for so many women. Deeply saddened by this decision, made without consultation with the Brescia community, past and present.

As the parent of a current Brescia student, my heart is broken for the students and alumnae as well as faculty that have been blindsided by this announcement. An institution that has had such a long history in the community deserves better than this. My daughter is devastated by this decision but surely will hold her memories of Brescia close to her heart. Shame on you Western for your handling of this.

The decision to completely erase Brescia’s long and rich history of female empowerment through its integration with western is appalling. I chose Brescia because it uplifts female-identifying voices. I chose Brescia because of its smaller community and class sizes. I chose Brescia because of its easily accessible resources as well as the additional help from amazing faculty and professors. I chose Brescia over western university because main campus severely lacks HELPFUL and ACCESSIBLE resources that help students. Western lacks the welcoming community Brescia immediately provides as a result of smaller classes and being able to make connections one-on-one with professors and students. Brescia is a university that cares about its students and their futures. Please do not erase over 100 years of the Ursuline sister’s history and advocacy for female empowerment.

As the only women's uni in Canada this is moving us backwards.

I am a current student at Brescia. I am beyond distraught to hear this news. I chose Brescia for small classes, one on one relationships with faculty, and SO much more. I am signing this so that other women in the future can experience this. And so that I can end my academic career on a high note, graduating from the campus I love and I chose.

The community at Brescia is so unique and provides a safe space for women that main campus cannot. My time at Brescia included some of the best times of my life, I am especially thankful for the growth I had while attending. I, and many others, thrive(d) off of the small class sizes, empowering community, and engagement with profs and other classmates. The decision to merge Brescia with Western is not made with students’ best interest at heart and is rightfully being protested. I truly hope this decision is reconsidered and revoked.

Cannot believe how totally screwed over so many students and faculty are. The absolute destruction of our community is so heartbreaking and cruel that I struggle to find the words to express my grief, frustration, and utter shock at this news. Current students have been robbed of their choice in education, totally hypocritical of the so called values that Brescia has preached to death. This is actively derailing so many lives, and the apathy in the delivery of this news is embarrassing. The legacy of so many incredible women and the community we've created together has been demolished with one email sent on a random Thursday.
