It is outrageous that this change was made without consulting Brescia faculty or students!

As President of the Huron University College Faculty Association, we stand in solidarity with our faculty colleagues at Brescia and their students (many of whom we also teach) during this time of upheaval and uncertainty.

What a shame that Western has made this decision

As an alumni, to hear this news from a random facebook post was shocking to me. I think we deserved an email or any other official means of communication informing us about this tragedy. And speaking of the tragedy itself, I believe Brescia could have done better and everyone could have been involved in the decision making of this. I am not quite aware about the etiology of this, but joint decision making and gathering solutions from the different involved parties could have saved Brescia from closure.

My daughter was thinking Western but during an open house she said she belonged at Brescia. She graduated from Brescia 2 years ago. She is one of the lucky ones. This announcement is heartbreaking

I graduated from Brescia in 2019. I love the atmosphere to being in women only and the time we spent there is unforgettable.

There is a reason why the students have chosen to attend Beescia. Don't take that away from them. The affiliation with Western University will definitely heighten Brescia to a grand level and it only add to UWO's diversity

Brescia is a unique place that allows its students to thrive and achieve their goals. It must not be lost. There are lots of places like Western, but only one Brescia. I am appalled that in this day and age, it would be proposed a feminist organization should be absorbed into a school with such a misogynist social undercurrent, and such a move be framed as an improvement. The students, faculty, staff and alumni of Brescia will not just accept this frankly shady action.
