There is a real need for more rental accommodation in the Busselton/Dunsborough region which is effecting small business, and local families. The stress that this is placing on families, both financially and mentally, needs addressing by our Council. The ideas and initiatives by Erl are commendable, achievable and reasonable and will go a long way to helping with the housing shortage. And the importance of preserving trees around houses can't be understated.

A priority of any council should be the health & welfare of its community. This should inform all by-laws & policies to keep them relevant. The current housing situation is affecting the emotional & mental health of ALL family members for those caught in the grip of trying to find permanent, safe accommodation which is a basic need for everyone. It would be amazing if our City Council supported Erl Happ’s initiative, & became a leading light for other councils to emulate.

I fully back you on this issue Erl, you have always been a man with foresight and visions for a more functioning place to live. The Shire really need to reassess their laws and keep up with the changing times.

Hazard reduction zones are increasing bushfire fire as they become weedy following clearing of native vegetation and remain unmanaged. Not accomplishing what they are supposed to, and result in native vegetation clearing and edge effects on adjacent bush land.

As stated the accommodation problem is causing much stress to many people that have lived in the area and have children attending local schools and the situation needs to be rectified....these people are needed and are most important to community life

Something needs to change, this is a common sense solution to the massive housing and affordability problems we are currently facing.

A great vision for our community to address the growing need of affordable housing. Shelter, a home, is a basic human right and WA is fast becoming a state that doesn't value human rights at all by allowing people to become homeless due to the outrageous cost of housing. Well done on taking a stand Erl, we support you mate.

Much better for the community than 6 story buildings in villages.

There is so much more that can be done to provide affordable housing. It is absolutely disgusting that Australia now has so many homeless people.

In addition to this, I would like to see Green Corridors incorporated into the planning, like they have in Canberra. This would provide much needed pathways for precious wildlife to travel safely through suburban developments, cooling properties for overheated cemented areas, and general enjoyment and wellbeing for all with more connection to Wardandi Country.
