On December 27th, 2011, the Silver Creek Valley Country Club Members were given notice that a lawsuit had been filed by Plaintiffs John Crowley and Dennis Teifeld naming Silver Creek Valley Country Club and the individual 2011 Directors of the Club as defendants.   There are a few members who support this lawsuit and the actions of John Crowley and Dennis Teifeld.  However, there are many more SCVCC members who do NOT support this lawsuit.  Our voices need to be heard.

Per Article XVI of the SCVCC By-Laws, “Any member or any family member or guest of the member whose conduct shall be deemed by the Board of Directors to be improper or likely to endanger the welfare, safety, harmony or good reputation of the Club or its members, may be reprimanded, fined, suspended or expelled from the Club by action of the Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors shall be the sole judge of what constitutes improper conduct or conduct likely to endanger the welfare, safety, harmony or good reputation of the Club or its members.”

As a result of this lawsuit, the Club and its membership has and will continue to incur expenses, including direct expenses and the possibility of increased insurance premiums in the future.  In addition to increased expenses, the lawsuit and conduct of the Plaintiffs may be endangering the harmony and good reputation of the Club.

Do you disagree with the actions taken by the Plaintiffs?  Should we have to incur increased expenses as a result of their actions?  Do you believe that the conduct of the Plaintiffs and the lawsuit is endangering the welfare, harmony and/or good reputation of the Club and its members?   Does the Board of Directors have reason to take future actions against the Plaintiffs?

If you agree with any of the above statements, please sign the petition.  The Board of Directors should know how many members oppose the lawsuit and the actions of the Plaintiffs.  The voices of all SCVCC members should be heard.
