A Flag for Northern Ireland

9 Signatures Goal: 1,000

Northern Ireland does not have an official flag to call its own. The flag commonly used to represent Northern Ireland at sporting events actually went under with Stormont in the early 70's. Furthermore, this same flag is a common feature at Loyalist band parades, on Loyalist paramilitary murals and in most Loyalist paraphernalia which does not endear that flag to half of Northern Ireland's population. So, to fill the void and give Northern Ireland some fresh appeal it is surely now worth looking at a new flag for the land? England, Scotland and Wales have their own flags and none are shunned by half of their respective populations, surely it's about time we aimed for the same?
