The local authorities have reversed their decision and Mountain Magic is now free to conduct readings again. Thank you to the 746 people who signed this and protected our religious freedom. Keep a close eye on the city council to ensure they respect these rights moving forward.
This petition is in regards to a local shop, Mountain Magic, who was harrassed by local authorities because they do Tarot readings, which is now illegal. I made this in hopes not only to restore the right to read Tarot but for all religions to be able to practice their Religion. Religion is a FREEDOM a RIGHT,and it can not be took away.
We just hit 500 signatures to defend the rights of Mountain Magic and our community. Post the link on Facebook right now to keep the pressure on our local leaders. Text three friends and tell them why this fight for religious freedom matters.

Apparently these people are not aware that they live in the Appalachian mountains and has been referred to Appalachian magic or mountain magic for ever. They need to stop pointing fingers and throwing stones and get a little education on this subject.

A law banning Tarot readings is, in my opinion unconstitutional. Laws banning any religious practice are also unconstitutional. This is the USA where we have rights and freedom to practice our religion, which ever variety we are drawn to, not just some version of Christianity.

I for one believe in everyone’s right to practice their own religion. The thing that most church going folks don’t realize is it won’t stop with this religion it will trickle down to all others if it’s allowed to take one religion away the others will soon follow.

I support Mountain Magic and their Freedom's as a business and their religious rights....we need more people to stand up for the little guys in our country....we will no longer set idle by as others impose their will upon the ones they fear because of their ignorance and intolerance.

If they take this right away, you might as well close down every religion in the area. I consider myself a Christian and would hate to see that type of prejudice ,just because I may not believe like someone else.

Wicca is a nationally recognized religion. The laws may be outdated as well as potentially unconstitutional at this time which means it merits a look as well as involvement from the ACLU. These people have the CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to practice their religion just as any other does.

If you loose on this (you won't, but if you do) then I want to see every Christian bill board taken down, every "In god we trust" off of school property, every 10 commandments removed, ALL OF IT! Not that I have an issue with these things, but if one group can't practice their beliefs then why should others? Christians get away with anything and nobody cares!
