Nicaragua is a wonderfull country, don't you think? If only the people that lived here would care about it. I do. My name is Ana. I am 11 years old and I live in Nicaragua. Nicaragua is a wonderful country. It has many beaches, mountains, and volcanoes. I see it as paradise. However, some people living here don't care about it as much as I do, and are destroying it by throwing trash in whatever place they find. They have no idea the damage they are causing to the environment. How can we help? I want to help by putting trash cans around Nicaragua, instead of putting unuseful things.

Trash affects everybody in the world. Everytime you throw trash in the street you change a live in a bad way. When you throw trash away, any animal could eat it and die. About 44% of seabirds eat plastic by accident when eating (according to National Geographic). Thrash doesn't only affect animals, but it also affects humans. According to Giana Andrew’s article, thrash creates water, air, and soil pollution. When we eat animals that had been eating thrash, we ingest contaminated fishes and animals.

Thrash doesn't only create pollution, but it also creates climate change and global warming. Global warming is the permanent increase in the normal average temperature of Earth. According to Suzanne Didier, global warming is causing food prices are rising, freshwater is becoming short in some countries, and worst of all, it is killing thousands of animals in cold weathers. Climate change is the statistical distribution of weather pattern. It also makes the transportation, processing, and storage of food harder.

I may be only a child, but I know that we need to do something about trash. Many animals and people are getting sick and dying. In fact, the world is slowly dying because of trash. Trashcans around Nicaragua or any country would reduce the amount of trash thrown in the streets, because people would already have a place to put their trash in. Just the small change of trash cans could help plenty of lives. So would you like to make a change?

The people running this country think they can ignore the trash rotting our streets forever. This momentum proves they are wrong and we are done waiting for them to act.
