Love Jesus, love others. Let's do this, agree or not, love and accept. I'm a 4th generation Nazarene and now ashamed to say it. I have a feeling that as soon as a GS has a child who is LGBTQI+, somehow the stance will soften. It shouldn't take this to follow what Jesus asks of us. Praying.

I am signing as a daughter of the church of the Nazarene. My family have been pastors and apart of the Nazarene community for generations. I attended SNU when Dee was the chaplain and I was spiritually nourished and grew so much because of his love and faithfulness to our school and community. In recent years I have been ashamed of having been apart of the Nazarene Church. The fear and hatred that is not so covertly displayed by the church leaders toward our brothers and sisters who are apart of the LGBTQ community is sinful and the termination of Dees credentials is wrong and unjust. This decision does call for more discussion with the wider church. The church is supposed to be salt and light to the world and this closed minded, I discussed decision is the opposite.

Lifelong Nazarene, son of 2 ordained Nazarene ministers finding it harder and harder to believe that the Church is interested in discussion around issues facing our society and culture today. My kids are watching us and how we might learn to have these difficult conversations and how we might disagree Christianly.

My family is made up of third and fourth generation Nazarenes. If our leaders are not allowed the space to express thoughts and encourage open dialogue of relevant social issues, what are we even doing here? I’m afraid if this mindset continues, generations ahead of us will not continue the family legacy in the Church of the Nazarene.
