Hi class! After much deliberation and open ears, we have heard the cry for appreciation. We have all worked so hard for this nursing degree. We all acknowledge it is hard to be sent a link to a pre-recorded graduation. A few of your classmates have taken the time to draft an email to faculty with a request for our voices to be heard. We would greatly appreciate YOUR signature to provide faculty with insight into how we all seek a meaningful graduation, whether it be a live zoom or a small group in person graduation. The faculty is still ignoring our emails while trying to push that pre-recorded video on us like it is enough. They think we will just roll over and accept a digital ceremony but they are dead wrong. We are not letting them dismiss years of our hard work with a lazy link.

The faculty cannot ignore this momentum any longer. They think they can hide behind pre-recorded videos while we demand the recognition we earned. We are forcing them to look at our faces and hear our demands.

I graduated from CSU in Fort Collins Colorado in the fall of 2020. The university still put on a walking ceremony for students. Sounds like this institution is cheat
A pre-recorded graduation does not honor the students and their hard work they have put into their nursing program. The Nightingale Ceremony was not pre-recorded this year and the graduating class for 2021 deserves at least a live zoom ceremony.
I have friends that are graduating from different programs and are getting the opportunity to participate in a live graduation. It breaks my heart that after the year we all had we don’t get to have a proper celebration.
Nursing school has been one of the hardest feats of my life so far. Even if family can’t be there, I just want to be able to celebrate with my friends who have helped me get through school.
As a first generation student, my family and I were devastated to hear about the pre-recorded ceremony. I would rather have any other alternative.
I hope CU CON class of 21' gets a graduation ceremony for all the hard work and diligence that was completed and the merit earned to walk across that stage is memorable.
My niece, Laura Robinson Guzman, has gone over and beyond to get her Nursing Degree and all these students DESERVE to be honored with an inperson graduation ceremony!! She's a Marine who has served in the Middle East, a wife, a mother of 3, & has persevered through many things including the COVID pandemic. She & her fellow students have worked hard & sacrificed much to achieve this GOAL! You can have this ceremony & observe all safety requirements or have it outdoors but PLEASE AWARD DEGREES TO THESE OUTSTANDING NURSING STUDENTS IN PERSON!! THEY DESERVE IT! My husband just helped with special presentations at Texas A&M University & all followed safety protical, wore masks, and students were respectful! Not one problem resulted!! Don't deny your nursing students of this joy & proud moment!!
