For evil to succeed, it is only necessary for people of good will to do nothing. All western like-minded governments who respect human rights and believe in the dignity of human beings need to take action and impose targeted sanctions (freezing of assets and denial of visas) on the government authorities responsible for the violence against the protestors.

The Ukrainian President is acting blatantly outside the laws and constitutions of Ukraine and common decency and also trying to push through laws to allow barbaric force of the common public and taking away their right to peacefully protest. Ukraine is not a country commonly involved in revolutions and wars. They are a peaceful people on the verge of becoming under a dictatorship. The world could really do without another leader like Mugabe, Idi Amin or Lenin. Ukraine cannot be lumped in the same bin as Russia and the soviet era. They were a functioning agricultural successful nation before being forced into the soviet regime and now are still suffering under remnants of that corruptive system.
