There is absolutely no excuse for the inadequate funding to assist the most marginalized and vulnerable people in our great city. Particularly when the City of Toronto spent (and continues to spend) millions of dollars on the Pan Am Games (which, let's be honest, few people - even sports fans - care about) with virtually no debate.

with the amount of cash our country gives away there should not be homeless or hungry people living in our country, i am all for charity but doesnt charity begin at home? the federal conservatives have been extremely sneaky an contradictory. i hope mr tory realises the problems that the provincial liberals have done to us as a province and starts to correct the situation.

Homelessness in a supposedly "world class" city is a shame. Don't leave the homeless to die in the cold. Don't ignore the city's own instructions. It is easy for those who go home to warm beds to say there is no money. Show some real class!!

Let's set an example for the rest of Canada by making homelessness an immediate priority.

Toronto does not lack the means to end homelessness and ensure a basic human right, only the will. Let's see if Mr. Tory has the will to live up to his campaign trail rhetoric, or if we're treated to equivocating, excuses and complacency.

The need for affordable housing is beyond the critical point. Shelters are not the answer in the long term but are a necessary short term step in helping homelessness. The shelter system must be changed in order to provied safe accessible shelters for every person who needs them. But Affordable housing is the only long term answer. We hope that you will take the steps to ensure both safe shelters and affordable housing.

With winter coming. homeless people will die in the streets because there are not enough shelter beds. I believe the politicians who fail to provide the needed safe spaces for people to be out of the cold should be held accocuntable for every death on Toronto streets from lack od housing.

We need safe, and accessible shelters for all! During the winter months, shelters are over-packed with having to put some residents on the floor. People with mobility issues do not have many options of where they are able to stay. We need to stop this crazy in-affordable housing crisis now!
