Open primaries are the poison pill in the Republican nomination process. Instead of genuine republicans, any spoiler group can cause an upset when they have no legitimate claim to the party's principles or governance. Take this nomination cycle, for instance.

there should not be any open primaries or Caucus period. the democrats come in and take over the votes . in them they don't plan on voting republican in the general. it's only common sense

Only registered Republicans should be able to vote in any Repubican primary or caucus! Why should independents and Democrats be able to choose who the Republican nominee will be. If independents feel that they want to vote in a particular GOP primary, then they at a minimum should be forced to make that decision and change to a Republican registation at least 4-6 months in advance of any states' primary or caucus.

I disagree no ban on Republican open primaries and caucus, don't change in the middle of a stream for favoritism leave it along, the more you stir in chit the worse it stink. we the people should have a voice.
