this proposal is so destructive to such a beautiful and supposedly protected area it should not get the go ahead the current crossing at Dartford should be reviewed and improved

Shorne Woods Country Park is a valuable asset to the communities of Gravesham and Medway as well as a site of special scientific interest . It is not even shown on the map published by Highways England, which shows how much they care about this lovely part of Kent. Dartford has already been ruined. Far better to make the best of a bad job there than to ruin another part of our countryside.

Once it's gone it will be lost forever. We need to retain the Green Belt not dig it up. It was created for a reason as a breathing space for urban communities and a chance for nature to continue and not be destroyed. Think again please! If not for yourself but future generations.

KCC and Highways England have no conscience - how can they even consider Option C which is so expensive compared to building another bridge at Dartford. Shorne is one the of the few villages left that offers such beautiful countryside and a wonderful community; it will be devastating if this foolhardy scheme goes ahead. The only way to solve the traffic problem is to build another bridge, south to north at Dartford.

All this Country side destroyed by this government and for what. Future generations will despise us for these acts of vandalism

Cannot believe that this is honestly an option!!

Management of the existing bridge and a change to routes freight take is the answer, not environmental vandalism that flies in the face of our government's sustainable communities objectives. No to a Lower Thames Crossing!

The destruction of communities, community assets and people's lives to support a poor transport option is unacceptable - find another way.

Totally unacceptable, will not resolve the current problems and years too late once Paramount is built. A bridge to replace the existing tunnel can be the only way forward and will clearly resolve current issues as proven on the southbound carriageway.

The earlier Canvey Island crossing makes the most sense and now the tunnel is an option it should be applied to this prefered crossing.

1. This route causes the greatest environmental damage of all the options studied. 2. Shorne is the most rural wooded village this side of the A2 in Gravesend. 3. The cost benefit analysis takes no account of the financial and environmental costs to Shorne and Chalk. 4. When (not if) tunnel is blocked, traffic will cut through surrounding villages causing grid lock. 5. You mention motorway to motorway at Junction 1 of M2. This is only 50% correct as Coastal bound will be coming off the A2. Shorne does not want 70mph traffic hurtling through its village.

Once again Kent County Council have let the people of the local area down for their own interests and destroyed the green belt land along with the marshes. We will not only have the Crematorium putting out pollution but now our lovely village will be covered with vehicle exhaust fumes which we will all be breathing in. Plus we will not be able sit in our own gardens in summer because of the constant noise. Shame on them its pure vandalism on a huge scale.

Absolute madness

There is enough pollution In Tilbury?. This tunnel and the roads to be built will be the final nail in the coffin in the destruction of the local enviroment and last remaining greenbelt... Yet again big business comes before the quality of life. for all who are unfortunate to be in the path of this monstrous development... Roll on death.

The toll and devastation this would wreak on both the beautiful open countryside and also families emotions and quality of life. Absolutely absurd that this route is being considered. Please save this lovely area for our children.

This is quite simply environmental vandalism .

Green Belt. Conservation Areas. Wildlife. Human life. Schools. Churches. Houses. Pollution. Cost. Landscapes. Lives. Kent Villages. Heritages. Ancient Woodland. Historic houses. Not a viable option. In every conceivable way, NO.

This plan is barbaric there is so little countryside left between here and London as it is and yet there are plans to destroy even more. Will it really stop at a road or will the surrounding villages be swallowed up by building etc? Residents have opted to live in a rural location and yet many face having there houses, business and way of life ruined because of a badly thought out plan!
