I approve the essence of this petition. He should be offered a position as Special Adviser to the Ministry that of Sustainable Development on a year to year contract. You can't have him in cabinet. Whether we like it or not, Cabinet is a political chamber and Jimmy is one of the SLP's political strategists.

I must admit that with all jokes, and prejudice aside this man Dr. Fletcher is doing a great job in both areas .Therefore allowing him to continue what he has started on climate change will only allow the work to flow without encumbrances. As was mentioned before, internationally, locally, and regionally he is known for an outstanding performance. If the job is being done excellent, why demolished a good thing.... I admire your social media information which has been very informative to the public....

Our society needs the kind of professionalism that Dr. Fletcher has consistently displayed. He has my vote!

I am in total support of this initiative, this will be in the best interest of St. Lucia and by extension continuing the thrust which began under the last administration spearheaded by Jimmy Fletcher. Too often successive administrations sweep viable programmes/initiatives under the rug just because it was not the brainchild of "De Party"

I suppose this move whole heartedly. If it comes to pass it will show that we are maturing as a people. A good example for our youth.

He has been there for the nation to manage three ministries, he needs to continue his strong leadership skills to the nation.

That's all well and good and I do believe that everyone is entitled to an opinion, but when voicing your opinion, the platform or format is very important. A petition generally serves to change something, to stop something that is already happening or prevent something which has been announced to begin from starting. When you start a petition before intentions are even announced (how are we so sure that they're going to destroy or stop what he started?) it implies that you already believe the worst of them. I feel like a letter sent directly to those in charge of making the decisions or an open letter with them directly tagged would have been a less negative method. Yes you can make your own choices and do as you see fit, but a petition says you already think the worst of them without even giving them a chance (or showing them alternatives in a less negative way) to do better.

Hi Vance as the writer I will like to tell you that I am not a supporter of the SLP and despite all of my family members are strong supporters of the party I have always been the scapegoat or so they see it because I've always shown preference to the UWP. A new body was elected for us and by us and I know that our PM has already thought about who might be Minister of whatever Ministry, those are factors that you think of long before the people decide or so I hope. My goal was to raise the petition so that before our PM officially present us our Cabinet Ministers we would have already brought it to his attention that Dr Fletcher is a keeper and we the people if St Lucia despite colour or party recognizes a good man before we destroy what he started or what he has achieved. After every election cabinets are destroyed, works are destroyed projects are banned I believe in good governance and I believe if we voice our opinion that our new Government will work differently and not follow on mistakes of the preceding Government or even their past mistakes. Two days I agree but when should I voice my opinion my interest in my island do I wait for them to repeat mistakes them be mad that they didn't deliver. We are the voice

How do we know that they will discontinue his work? I'm St Lucian and I've seen other elections and ministers in action. This is Chastnet's first time as PM, shouldn't we at least see what he does and what he's capable of before we assume he's going to just stop the good things from happening? It's only his second official day as PM, I see this was started since yesterday, when it was only his first, at least let the man have a bit of time, see what he does and doesn't do before judging him. From the tone of the contents of the petition, it's clear the writer supported labor and is disappointed that they lost, which I understand. I myself did not have any preference and did not vote this election, but at least act like compassionate human beings that will give someone the chance to show what they mean to do before jumping up and judging them and assuming they're going to follow a stereotype.

If Dr. Fletcher would like to work under the present administration, I think he should, regardless of political affiliation.
