Totally agree. Most of the people can't afford to pay for therapy after their personnel work benefit is used by Auto insurance. Therefore, in case something happens and they can't afford to attend Physiotherapy, Chronic pain will develop and opioid use will increase , which will cause more financial stress for the government and put more burden on the medical system!!!

I am a chiropractor for 42 years. This has been a problem for ALL of my patients for ALL of their MVAs. Please fix this!

Being part of a clinic that accepts MVA clients, its super frustrating having to explain to clients why their EHC has to be depleted before the MVA money kicks in. This is completely unfair. What happens if something else occurs that has nothing to do with the MVA, they have no coverage. Now they either pay out of pocket, which defeats having EHC, or they don't get treated. Its wrong to have to use EHC for an MVA. We all pay Car Ins, and that is how it should be, the Car Ins covers an accident and EHC is Personal!

It's unfair to have extended health pay for auto accident recovery- the client is paying premiums to both!

When MVA insurers deplete the Extended Health Insurance first, there are no benefits left to treat other injuries the rest of the year.

Patients should not use their extended healthcare benefits to pay for part of their care due to car accidents.

Totally agree. Also, the auto insurer should pay the HST for MVA provided massage services by RMT, as per existing regulations and requirements of the Financial Authority of Ontario. Thank you.

Patients' pay two policy premiums and should be able to retain their private health care coverage for treatments required outside an Motor Vehicle Collision claim. Most patients are blind sided by this law once in an accident claim and they have no voice on the matter.

It's a little of work for clinic to get paid due to work benefits payment. Sometimes payment go to clients and they dissappear with payment. Clinic is one who suffer with this situation.

As a PT the only fair answer to this issue is to stop the use of personal benefits to cover MVA treatments. It is an administrative nightmare and it leaves to client with no benefits should they have another injury ie. Spain an ankle walking down the sidewalk. If all their benefits were used in the MVA they are left to pay out of pocket or not seek help. Also, we pay very high insurance rates that should cover it. Stop the abuse on all sides and make it fair.
