I should have been able to access my EHB for other services I used that had nothing to do with my MVA injuries

As someone that works in a Wellness Clinic and helps MVA patients everyday we have been fighting for this for a long time. This needs to stop NOW and it should have never been put in place to begin with. Patients work hard to get better and they deserve to have something to fall back on for continued treatment once their Auto Ins is done. Stop this nonsense we pay for Auto Ins for a reason.

This makes sense, and is consistent with our patients-first values.

As a physio, I totally agree with this, would make patient care so much more straight forward

This policy makes absolutely no sense and leaves individuals without the necessary coverage to address issues unrelated to their accidents.

I am living though this right now. For five years they have maxed out my benefits and denied ocf18s Once your benefits are maxed out you have nothing left over for any other health concerns.
The diver that hit me was charged and pled guilty and that was that. I’m still fighting the insurance companies for health care.
How many times does one person have to be a victim?

This policy is unfair in every way, to accident victims, clinics and admin, and honestly even to the private insurance companies covering fees for things that should be payed by the auto-insurers. It has never made sense to me as a physiotherapist that this is the way the system is.

This policy has always been very unfair to accident victims, especially if they have low annual limits

Yes it’s BS having to go through work insurance first

Why was this travesty of unfairness allowed in the first place?

Please stop auto insurers from draining, and emptying our personal work benefits and oblige auto insurers to pay for treatment from a car accident first!
Our Work Benefits should not pay for injuries due to a car accident!.

This rule never made sense to me. We pay auto insurance, they should pay for automobile injuries. Leave the personal insurance alone!

We should be able to keep our extended health benefits and use it if we sustained another injury after a car accident.
Definitely it is not fair.

I agree with this petition. Patients should get to keep their private insurance benefits for other possible uses, and not have to use them when we already pay so much for car insurance in Canada.
