Current legislation is non-sense. It’s a scam by auto-insurers.

This has gone on way too long! If you were to sprain your ankle after using your EHB for an MVA, your MVA insurance won’t pay for that!

As a chiropractor this is much needed. It also helps better ease of access to health care for motor vehicle accident patients that otherwise wouldn't seek out care.

That is what part of auto insurance is for. If this passes I will request a 50% discount on my premiums

I am the office member that has to deal with collecting from work benefits before submitting to MVA benefits and it is a huge headache and lots of paperwork and red tape. Especially when the patient has two work insurances ...Theirs and Spouse. UGH. It would be great to not have to chase them down for money and EOB

If a worker gets injured at the workplace they are NOT use their extended health benefits. In the same regard if someone becomes injured in a MVA they should not use their extended health benefits.

We at imove clinic agree that our patients should not have to exhaust their ehb before claiming expenses through their car insurance for injuries sustained in a car accident!

Although this does not affect me personally, I agree that work benefits should not used first.

patients should not have to exhaust their extended health benefit coverage for auto injuries. I have had many patients that have exhausted their benefits and then later in the year had a new injury that they were unable to fund their treatment with due it being used up by the auto insurance claim.

Billing EHC benefits for an MVA is an injustice to all patients who have been involved in a motor vehicle accident. It is also an injustice to all healthcare providers who have to navigate this awful system somebody came up with. Between having to pay premiums for both kinds of insurance and exhausting your EHC benefits for any other injuries because of an MVA is absolutely atrocious. Patients may sustain unrelated injuries that were in need of surgery which is definitely requiring treatment. I am in total agreement of this petition and have been for the 12 years I have worked in admin positions in the healthcare field.

I appreciate the efforts to end this practice. Forcing claimants to utilize primary health benefits is not best practice and limits their ability to seek care outside of the auto claim itself. It's about time !!

Auto insurance premiums should absolutely be the sole source of coverage for MVA injuries. Not only is it an administrative issue, but it depletes a patient's coverage so that if another injury were to occur that same year, they no longer have funding available.

At a time when a person is trying to recover from serious injury, they should be supported. They shouldn't have to also manage the pain of complex billing systems and funding denials.

It is unfair that people have to use their benefits for MVÀs so then they have no coverage later in year when they hurt themselves in non MVA incident

This is an awful policy. It needs to change. MVA should be paid by Motor vehicle insurance that is what we pay it for.
