Rene has been my coach since I started playing tennis and is a great role model. I would love to see him stay and I couldn't see Woodlake tennis the same without him.

Rene Mendoza is very well-liked and obviously considered an asset to the tennis community at Woodlake. I have worked with him as a volunteer for eight years, and during that time I have gotten to know him and his family. Before becoming tennis director, Rene performed just about every duty possible to make the tennis courts and facility the best they could be, even with the limited resources available. He worked tirelessly at tennis events, tournaments and meetings, and many of these tasks were on his own time. He understands the pulse of the facility—irrigation, maintenance, supplies, teaching pros, staffing, volunteers, teams, leagues, team captains, adult and junior programs, clinics and people. His relationships with the tennis members and visitors, whether from conducting clinics, tournaments, or just watching and talking to players, have developed into a valuable asset for Woodlake tennis. Everyone likes to see Rene, and he knows just about everyone’s name. If I needed something done for the Woodlake Tennis Association or a ladies tennis league, I could ask Rene and get the results right away. Likewise, he knows how to get help from volunteers to provide great programs and events for tennis members and guests. Rene became the tennis director and continued to devote himself to provide the best facility and tennis program possible with limited resources. This happened during a particularly challenging chapter in the club’s history. Even though a foundation had been laid down before Rene became director, many changes had to take place, and policies, procedures and practices were revised and implemented. Considering the unusual circumstances, the Woodlake tennis community is happy and healthy with Rene. Just ask around. Goodwill is priceless.

Rene is a gem. Keep him here at Woodlake and happy. We deserve to have a leader for, by and with the players. It has been a pleasure knowing him and learning how to improve my strokes and game with his tutelage, guidance and positive encouraging attitude. Thanks for listening and working hard to make our club one of the best.

Having just joined the club in July, I have found Rene Mendoza to be a gift to the tennis community! He observes all members while at play and can then give positive feedback and suggestions. He already has a sense of players game skills long before going to him for lessons because he is so attentive. Rene makes this club a place our family wants to be... I would hate to see such a resource gone from our club.

Rene has been a big part in the shape of the tennis club and has helped to make it the great club it is. We would lose too much if Rene was not around to continue to mold this club into a top of the line club.

I'm fully supporting Rene. He is great coach and introduced my two sons to tennis. The older one is doing great at high school tennis team - he wouldn't be there without Rene. The younger one is stepping the same path. For them, tennis at Woodlake = Rene.

Rene is truly the heart of Woodlake Tennis. In the many years since I've met Rene, I have known him only to be patient, kind, trustworthy and caring. He truly cares for the community. He has been so sweet to my children and as my children are growing up immersed in the Woodlake Tennis community, he has helped to foster their love of tennis. Please keep Rene at Woodlake!
