Closing Byte would be a mistake, it serves many staff in Kilburn and beyond, and Wendy's personality is central to it. It would be a real shame to lose that.

Wendy made my student days so much easier ! I wasn't much of a coffee person, but her cappuccino was the most delicious ever, as it was always spiced generously with great conversations and garnished with a dash of encouragement for anything I was planning for the day.

The Byte Cafe is a focus for the community of Computer Science in the university, a community that is important for the quality of Student Experience (which is an important to the university). It is a place where staff and students meet both socially and for work purposes, and also is an important factor in the professional life of Computer Science. Cafes outside the building are not a replacement for this thriving focus of the School.

Wendy makes the Kilburn prison feel like a home, to remove her would be to cut the very heart out of the computer science department.

You must reconsider this, Wendy and the Byte Cafe are very much part of Kilburn.

Keep Wendy. She's brilliant and deserves to keep her job. She knows everyone by name and always has a cheerful word for everyone.

The Byte Cafe is where ideas take form and work gets done. Wendy is warm and friendly and an important part of Kilburn life. Their value goes beyond simple accountancy.

I am very curious about FoC's rationale for determining that Byte is 'financially unsustainable'. It serves both CS and IT services, and it is regularly busy, even outside term time. If it truly is 'unsustainable' as it is, I would rather pay higher prices than lose both Wendy and the Cafe.

Please keep it open. It is a time saver buying coffee from Byte Cafe for many staff and students. Instead, if it gets closed, you are likely to loose a lof customers like me who buy coffee from Byte Cafe. Closing it will be unwise given I can see Food on Campus loosing further faithful customers.

This decision is a joke. Are any of us surprised now that we have Mr Hatchet running the University. No wonder Liverpool were celebrating when he left!

It saddens me to witness this surprising closure. I may understand motives behind this possible act but I wish for an appreciation of this petition, especially after reading words written in this page by people who loved the place and are attached to the presence of the lovely Wendy.
I’m not about to deliver my feelings about a friend I’m used to her kindness & perfect coffee, I’ll only rely on the judgement of family members and friends visited me during the last few years. By leaving them in Byte café for less than one hour before we go out, I realised every time the impact of Wendy in their describing the school experience – how much they did enjoy her companion and love her food.
Talking about the café, it has the name and the meaning we loved and put in our stories. It has the place where many friendships started, and many questions were born. It is the first byte and the last beat of our memories in our school.
Please, consider our voice.

She is the heart and soul of the Kilburn Building who routinely goes above and beyond her duties to provide friendly and personal service to students and staff alike in our community.
