I can not believe that they have treated her this way.
I respectfully ask that she be rehired. How can you justify letting her go. She excelled at her position. You probably will lose me as a loyal viewer.

Bell Media – How do you think CTV Ottawa news at 6:00 managed to become and remain the top rated news cast for so many years? We have been tuning in to CTV news for decades as it always had a special local homespun feeling to it. We enjoyed and respected the news team, especially when Carol Anne and Max were there together. They were professional, dedicated, and they also had personality, and gave the show a warm feeling. Carol Anne remained the face of the newscast after Max left. Now can’t imagine tuning in without her on the desk. Not sure how you justify your treatment of a dedicated 27 year employee who was both excellent at her job and so popular with the viewers. Bell has underestimated the impact of this Corporate decision. We, like many others, have decided to boycott CTV Ottawa news (CTV in general) and are preparing to switch our Bell services, including phone, internet and cable to other providers.
Thank you to the individual who started this petition. It may not succeed in getting Carol Anne reinstated as anchor (not sure she would want to return after such treatment), but this outpouring of feelings from thousands of loyal viewers will definitely succeed in showing her how much her Ottawa and valley community love her, support her and will miss her.

none of the seniors in my group will be watching the CTV news without her...or many other programs on that network

It is certainly a sad day in the capital when the executives of Bell Media made the decision to terminate the services of Carole Anne Meehan. Carole Anne is a definite asset to the community. If the restructuring was done to save dollars then our wish would be to have some executives suffer a similar fate or better still accept a salary reduction.

Still in shock after what Bell did to our lovely compassionate anchor. Switched last night for the first time to CBC news (quite good). Mr. Richardson is a stick in the mud, no humour or warmth there. Pray that CBC can scoop her up. Their ratings would go through the absolute roof and they would make our huge city ever so happy!! If we stop watching cjoh news and yank services from Bell (did that years ago, couldn't be happier with my new provider) we can show Bell what we are made of and are not taking what they did to our beloved anchor lightly.
