Carol Anne Meehan is the heart of CTV six o`clock news and the voice of the Ottawa Valley. She and Max Keeping were the perfect anchors which for years kept up watching night after night. Carol Anne is a mature, experienced reporter and easy to listen to. The young people (nice as they may be) I find are immature and very irritating. Is Bell Media trying to get rid of CTV Ottawa because of a bottom dollar? If they want to keep us listening bring back the good people like Carol Anne Meehan.

Living in Iqaluit, Nunavut my fiance & I watch the CTV news FAITHFULLY every night. Seeing Carol Anne at the news desk was just "normal". Her absence is breaking our hearts. It's just NOT the same.

Carol Anne has always expressed herself with compassion and sincerity. She understands our community and what people want to hear. This decision clearly shows how Bell Media is out of touch with our community.

I am very disappointed to hear that Carol Anne has been treated this way after so many wonderful years of being such an integral part of the supper news hour not to mention our community. I'm sure I'm not alone in deciding to choose another station's news hour (after almost 40 years of watching CJOH/CTV) as a result of the shortsightedness of Bell Media in laying her off.

I have watched Carol Anne for over 20 years. Watching the news has become a tradition for our family. I will no longer be watching CTV news without Carol Anne as co - anchor. She adds a depth of understanding and knowledge to the CTV news broadcast. We will miss her contribution to the many charities she has supported.

I will never understand the decision to terminate Carol Anne Meehan's position! One would think that having a news anchor who is well respected, engaging, intelligent, and credible would be a good thing! What a misguided decision. I sincerely hope to see her back!
