Like many others, I am appalled with the CTV layoff of someone so well known and respected in her community and the fact that Carol Anne was not given a proper farewell and awarded an opportunity to speak on the air, Shouldn't she be recognized and honoured for her contributions? As a retired employee in Human Resources, it would be the right thing to do.

As a long time Bell customer, I am very disappointed in this decision and am considering cutting myself off from all Bell services as soon as possible.

While I appreciate restructuring I believe strongly the wrong news person has been let go! She can read, she is the face of our nightly news, she is a community person, she had appreciation for Ottawa and she has legacy. Perhaps when considering the reduction in staff anchors who cannot read, who stumble and have mannequin personalities should go first. I will disconnect my relationship entirely with Bell if this is not reconsidered.

Shocked to hear of Carol Anne Meehan's lay off after all these years of dedication she is one of the best anchors I have enjoyed watching and listening to. Give Carol Anne the respect she deserves and re-hire her.

Bell Media is forgetting that the reason for the great success of CTV News Ottawa is not the delivery of the news but who and how it is delivered. I watched because Carol Anne Meehan displayed each broadcast with sincerity, honesty and a genuine interest in what was happening in our city. She had my respect and I trusted her words. There is a relationship with Carol Anne and the bosses have forgotten how very important that is to maintain viewer loyalty. Big mistake on Bell Media and how she was fired without being able to sign off was disgraceful!
