Bell this is disgusting to let Carol Anne go, she been in home for 27 years. I guess loyality means nothing to Bell, Bring her back if they are luck enough for her to say yes after the treatment she has received. They could have at the bare minimum let her leave on her own terms offer her early retirement and give her a two weeks to say her good byes and leave on a better note!

Corporate decisions like this are shameful. You brought in a pompous, stiff and phoney replacement for Max Keeping when he retired and when the time came for layoffs, you let the heart of CTV Ottawa news go. Shameful and idiotic decision. Do the intelligent thing here and bring Our Carol Anne back!!

So is this a Human Rights issue? Just me or did the older guys get to keep their jobs and they brought in a couple of younger women; Carol Anne needs her job too and maybe moreso since the sudden passing of her spouse?

Carol Anne deserved a lot more from her employer. She is a respected community figure who shows compassion and connectivity to her audience. CTV showed a total lack of recognition and respect in relation to the manner in which she was "cut". Shame on them.

I cannot imagine watching the 6 o'clock news without her. To me, she was the 6 o'clock news. I think I will check out CBC news from now on.

Please reinstate this stellar anchor woman. She is an icon here in Ottawa. My late brother Brian Postlethwaite worked for CJOH as an audio technician in the hay days for CJOH and he thought highly of Carol Anne Meehan, not only as a great anchor woman, but as a lovely person who exuded kindness and a sensitivity for others.

It is not so much the firing, as the disrespect for her and the audience of the news broadcast. You may see good-byes as niceties, something easy to put aside, but we the viewers were owed that closure as was your long time employee. I will miss her, and it is hard to respect Bell media.
