Support CTV Ottawa News Anchor Carol Anne Meehan

Our home stopped watching CTV Ottawa news when Carol-Ann had an extended holiday this summer and we returned when she did. Now that she's been so disrespected in the way she was dismissed, we won't be watching it again. I was disappointed when Caril-Ann didn't get the Chief News Anchor after Max's retirement but her grace and kindness taught me to stand tall in set backs. I'm no longer watching CTV News and hope to see Carol-Ann on the air at CBC

Are we back to the days of laying off women who become a bit too old for tv, yet men can be on until they just about die on tv. I consider this prejudice. Don't you. We all know and love Carol Anne Meehan, she ist thought of as part of Ottawa, she is dedicated to this city and has been involved in so many charities and activities in this city. Why would you lay off some one with such success in this city, someone so loved by the Ottawa people,and probably throw on some other old fart. Was she just protected by Max Keeping and now that he has passed she is no longer safe. What would dear old Max think of your decision, right, the same as we do. I suggest Ottawa boycott this station until she is given back her job, that is if she still wants it. She is a leader in our community.

These lay-offs are absurd and even worse is the ways they were carried out. They need to be restored to the way/positions they were...Pronto! Such a damn disgrace....oh and as a life-long viewer i feel so hurt and disrespected to boot.

So so sad, I even taped the news to hear her, & missed her so much when she was off, Now the same thing again, but Forever!!!! Mean, Meam Mean!!!!

We are in Budapest and read of this. We are very upset about what has happened . Large corporations care nothing about about local issues. Bring her back.

Please do the right thing and bring Carol Anne back. Shameful behaviour on the part of Bell Media. Sometimes decisions are made that need to be reviewed and changed...this is one of them.

Bad decision, what does CTV expect its viewers to do? With the loss of Max Keeping and now the next in line has been layed off. Ottawa viewers were not ready for this. Ottawa needs Carol Anne. I am completely disgusted with this decision. Lori Nolan

Ridiculous. Loved CTV news but I wont watch it anymore.

This decision was wrong on so many levels, the least of which is the way it was carried out. In a day and age when viewers are looking for some sense of reassurance that respect and good deeds are things to be rewarded, we see this community leader treated in such a detestable way. Shame on Bell Media.

We need Carol Anne to report our evening news as she is a very trusted reporter and an important part of the community. She should be returned to the news desk.
