Climate emergency declaration Wandsworth

Climate change is real. We must act now.

I wholeheartedly support this petition. My grandchildren’s lives are at risk.

This is without a doubt the biggest challenge humanity will ever face. There's been protest and promises for almost four decades since the first Earth Summit in Rio and not much has changed in terms of urgency. Everyone is warning about the risks and the timeline, scientists and economists, yet politicians and local authorities seem to ignore it all. Please make a change, please declare a climate emergency. Our generation is the first to truly understand what we're doing to our planet, and the last to make the changes needed to save it. Let's do our bit Wandsworth.

Especially on a cloudy day I can feel the difference to my health as the cloud traps in the pollution in Wandsworth

Action must be taken now. Words are not enough. This is for future generations.

We must use less of everything and not expect 'business as usual'. That has become obsolete. Walking and cycling instead of driving. Slowing down and sharing is good.

Am also an Extinction Rebellion supporter. We need people to understand the urgency about climate change

Take action now, before it’s too late.

I loved living in Wandsworth in the 70's and early 80's and playing football on the commons. Keep Wandsworth GREEN.

I am regularly in Wandsworth as I study there once a week and often travel around the area.

I'm a frequent visitor to Wandsworth and use it's facilities. I notice the effects of local traffic based air pollution compared to that in Hertfordshire so appreciate the effects on climate.

We need to change, now
