This is a worldwide issue that has to be addressed with seriousness and respect, but also the utmost urgency.

The petition was handed in on Tuesday with a stonking 12,300 signatures! http://tooting-news.dailyprss.co.uk/tabs/blog/2019/05/over-12000-people-call-on-wandsworth-council-to-declare-a-climate-emergency Thanks to all of you that signed it. Council is now verifying signatures and will respond in due course. The issue will have to be debated at full council level, although we have called for an emergency debate. This is the biggest environmental petition in Wandsworth History, thank you again! You can follow further progress here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/327742181199950/

I would like Wandsworth Borough Council to recognise the climate emergency that we have created and are living in.

We need to keep up the momentum on this issue and ensure that no new runways are built at Heathrow.

Change is urgently needed. We were meant to receive lamp post charging points to encourage residents to buy electric cars, but hardly any have been installed. Vehicle idling is also a major problem in our borough. Supermarkets continue to package food in single use plastics. To name but a few of the many issues
