Why on earth would you take this ability away from ANY city? We vote to put competent city officials in place to protect our home and business values by having the ability to keep developers from doing whatever they want. Southlake does not want to be like everybody else. This is a direct infringement on home rule by the state. We rail against these types of overreaches by the Federal Government. Please, veto HB2349 and allow Southlake to be Southlake. As a Southlake resident, I want our city to continue its unique appeal and it's ability to attract and demand development that reflects our core values -- not those of the developer whose concern is about their cost.

I cannot believe that our Republican controlled government supports taking away the rights of cities to govern the look and feel of commercial buildings in its jurisdiction. Southlake, TX is a beautiful city and I don’t want it ruined by this bill.

You are helping owners by cutting back masonry products. Replacing cheap materials and repainting is more expensive than quality Masonry products. One repaint and the buyer will have spent more than masonry products. Brick is also much safety in storms than siding products

I believe that this bill will be to the detriment of existing homeowners in Texas cities and will likely lead to a devaluation of existing homes in the areas where it has been historically masonry.
