I am a retired Kent Firefighter studying at UKC Canterbury. Staggered each campus site does not have one if not two or more defib's close to high risk areas i.e. playing fields, sport halls and estates department workshops etc. I would go a step further and suggest each campus should have a fully equipped and trained ambulance service approved community co-responder team with oxygen therapy, diabetic emergency kit and C-spine collars. With the number of students, academic staff, estate teams (using chainsaws and powered machinery) and building contractors working at height on the sites , it is not a question of if there is an emergency it is when. My partner had a heart attack... we know how vital difibrillators can be. Absolute must in my opinion, and it is a shame students have to resort to a petition to provide a vital piece of equipment!!!

Its honestly shocking that we dont have one already. With that many people walking around daily it should be a standard safety requirement. Hope they listen to this.
