University management confirmed that the final examinations will proceed under enhanced security protocols. I have submitted our petition data to the administration to demonstrate the clear mandate for this decision. We will monitor the campus closely to ensure these measures remain in place until every student completes their academic commitments.

To: ALL UWC STAFF MEMBERS, STUDENTS, PARENTS, GUARDIANS AND UWC ALUMNI

The turn of events at UWC in the past few weeks, especially last night (11 Nov), have put the future of our children, brothers and sisters in jeopardy. The violent nature of the protest undermines the right of the majority of the students to access the very education the protesters claim to be fighting for. The reputation of our university is on a knife-edge.

As the University community, we sit back and watch at our own peril. This is the time for the University community to be united against this violence and intimidation. It is time for the staff members, students and parents to unite, support and defend our students who want to write examinations.

Parents, guardians and donors have invested lot of resources – financial, moral and spiritual – in the education of their children and their kindred.

We cannot allow the 2015 academic year to go to waste!

We need to send a very strong message to the group of protesting students that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

University is supposed to be a place in which ideas contend. We must use the power of our ideas to persuade each other rather than resort to violence in order for our views to be accepted. It cannot be justified that violence can be used to hold the entire University to a halt. We must all join hands in condemning these acts of violence and vandalism of property.

SAY NO TO VIOLENCE, VANDALISM, ARSON, AND INTIMIDATION OF STUDENTS AND ASSAULT OF STAFF MEMBERS!

We are approaching the 2,500 signature threshold required to demand a formal meeting with the university executive committee. I am finalizing the draft of a letter that will present these names directly to the administration. Ensure your circle has signed this petition to meet this target before I submit the documentation.

VANDALISM IS NEVER THE ANSWER. UWC needs to get control of this now before everything is destroyed.

This is ridiculous. We are here to study and get degrees not to burn everything down. Enough is enough.
