Some are even traveling during the week of finals to testing sites outside of KC because they were the only testing sites available

For the trimester 6 students we are having to accommodate for rescheduled Part 1 National Board Exams and many of the open slots for examination are during the week of finals. Many of us have to travel out of the city to other testing sites. We are already having issues with overlap of lab finals with Boards exams. To allow the 24 hour testing period of online finals gives students the opportunity to take their finals and not have to deal with makeup final examinations that put more strain on students and professors in regards to scheduling and still abiding to COVID on campus procedures. I feel that if the trimester started with online exams it should follow suit throughout the entire trimester. I definitely think its fair to have on campus examinations for the upcoming fall trimester as we can start the trimester consistently and maintain throughout the end of the trimester. Currently we still have students that are just now coming back to campus after exposure to COVID and some are having to return to remote schooling due to possible exposure and awaiting test results in order to come back. Is it really a good idea to bring more people into a building at one time when we have students who are not even allowed on campus? Shouldn’t we all be given the same testing environment? Especially the same testing environment we have adapted to over few months?

To date, I have had 2 patients cancel in clinic due to being exposed to someone with COVID-19. I am concerned with the amount of students on campus during finals week and wish to not be around even my classmates, as I am already reluctant to come to classes for labs with the rise in cases. Additionally, I have responsibilities at home that require me to be present now that our normal schedules have been disrupted and schools are closed. Having the ability to take the many finals we have all week in a familiar place knowing children are cared for and on our own time would lessen the stress from this unfortunate situation.

I feel like having finals now on campus is the wrong move , especially for the two tri’s that have to take boards in the middle of the week.

You can’t reasonably expect everyone to perform finals at their highest level when we have been taught through a screen for the past trimester. Given the response to shut down school because of fear. It makes no sense to abandon that logic just for finals. If you had been consistent with letting us know when we were gonna come back and how things were going to operate then their wouldn’t be a problem. There hasn’t been any transparency therefore it is not fare to take these tests in person.

We should be testing in the same environment we are studying.

Part 2 was awful with a mask. It was all I could think about. I think this will hurt my ability to take a test.
