If successful treatment for cancer proceeds with the goal of removing every cancerous cell—to achieve complete remission, why do we consider treatment for depression or bipolar disorder to be successful when symptoms persist?
The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) challenges mental health care professionals, researchers, and individuals living with or affected by mood disorders to raise treatment goals to complete remission -- to zero symptoms. Please show your support by signing this petition and joining the Target Zero to Thrive campaign.

I suffer from Bipolar and depression. I was hospitalized last year for a month due to major depression. I was discharged after a month with no follow up or any contact what so ever afterwards. all I was told is that I'm treatment resistant and was put on a anti depressant for good measure...that's it.
