از انقلاب اسلامی 57، جامعه بهایی در ایران آماج اقدامات تبعیض آمیز بوده و حملاتی متعددی را در این زمینه تجربه کرده است. طی این سالها، صدها شهروند بهایی تنها به جرم اعتقاداتشان به جوخه های مرگ سپرده شدند و یا در زندانهای مخوف جمهوری اسلامی جان باختند. از اشتغال بهائیان در بخش های عمومی به طور سیستماتیک ممانعت به عمل آمده و از ورود آنها به سیستم دانشگاهی جلوگیری شده است و صدها تن به دلیل اعتقادات مذهبی بهایی در زندان هستند. پلمب محل کار بهائیان، مصادره اموال، تخریب آرامگاه های بهائی، ارعاب و تهدید و ربودن آنها از شیوه هایی است که جمهوری اسلامی سال هاست برای فشار بر جامعه بهایی پیش رو گرفته است.

چارچوب قضایی که در سایه آن حقوق جامعه بهایی در ایران مورد تجاوز قرار می گیرد، مستقیماً به اهداف نظام در جهت حفظ هویت اسلامی حکومت پیوند خورده

و قانون اساسی و دیگر قوانین، تبعیض مذهبی را رسمیت بخشیده اند.

ما از جامعۀ جهانی خواستار محکومیت نقض حقوق بشر در ایران و برخورد جدی با رژیم جمهوری اسلامی جهت توقف رویۀ فعلی هستیم.

Since the 1979 Revolution, the Baha'i community in Iran has been subject to discriminatory practices and has experienced numerous attacks in this regard. During these years, hundreds of Baha'i citizens were either sentenced to death just because of their beliefs or died in the dreaded prisons of the Islamic Republic. Baha'is have been systematically prevented from hiring for the public sector and barred from entering the university system, and hundreds have been in prison for their faith. The sealing of Baha'is workplaces, confiscation of property, destruction of Baha'i tombs, intimidation and abduction are among the ways the Islamic regime has for years been pressing on the Baha'i community.

The judicial framework in which the rights of the Baha'i community in Iran are violated is directly linked to the goals of the regime in preserving the Islamic identity of the government. Moreover, the constitution and other laws have recognized and legitimized religious discriminations.

We call on the international community to condemn human rights abuses in Iran and to take a serious approach to the Islamic Republic regime in order to stop the current process.
