Give the soldier his due

देखो कितने साल हो गए भारत को आज़ाद हुए, मैं भी इतने सालों से हूँ, सरहद पर तैनात खड़ा, रेगिस्तानी धूप, हवाएं, ठंडी ऊंचे परबत की, आंधी या तूफ़ान कभी कुछ, मुझको डिगा नहीं पाया , --- लेकिन अक्सर तन्हाई में, मैं ये सोचा करता हूँ, --- मुझको मेरे देश बता क्या तेरा मैं कुछ लगता हूँ ? तुमनें बोला जंग लड़ो , और मैनें कभी नहीं सोचा , इसमें मुझको क्या हासिल, न सही ग़लत ही कुछ देखा, अपना सुख दुःख भुला दिया और तुम्हें सदा ऊपर रखा , सुबह से लेकर शाम, शाम से सुबह तलक मैं जगता हूँ , --- पर तुम सबके बड़े खेल का मैं अदना सा मोहरा हूँ , --- मुझको मेरे देश बता क्या तेरा मैं कुछ लगता हूँ। उस दिन तुम आये थे मुझ तक टीवी की आवाज़ लिए , पढ़े लिखे लोगों को उस दिन तुम आये थे साथ लिए , मेरी बातें करते करते अपनी बातें कह डालीं, वोट बैंक को खूब रिझाया मेरी बातें कौन कहे। --- तुमसें बातें करके जाने मैं नंगा क्यूं दिखता हूँ , --- मुझको मेरे देश बता क्या तेरा मैं कुछ लगता हूँ। मुझको कुछ मालूम नहीं था, मैं तो दिल से बोला था, और तुम्हारी खातिर तो वो बस टीवी का इक शो था, देश मेरा हर रात नौ बजे बात नयी सुनता कहता, तुमनें मुझसे जो कुछ बोला वो बस मीठा धोखा था, --- ऐसे में मैं अपने से ही ख़ुद शर्मिन्दा होता हूँ, --- मुझको मेरे देश बता क्या तेरा मैं कुछ लगता हूँ। तुमने अपने घर भर डाले फिर भी पेट नहीं भरता, कितना और कमा सकता हूँ सुबह शाम सोचा करता , आकाशों से ऊंची होती जाती सबकी इच्छाएं , नहीं बची कुछ शर्म किसी से कहीं नहीं कोई डरता, --- इस सब के दौरान कभी क्या मैं भी तुम को दिखता हूँ, --- मुझको मेरे देश बता क्या तेरा मैं कुछ लगता हूँ। आते हो तुम नेताओं का कभी कभी भर कर चोला, मन में कुछ है, कहते कुछ हो, शब्द हर इक नापा तोला, वापस जा कर फिर तुम अपनी दुनियाँ में खो जाते हो, किसको याद रहा की मैंने, कहा तुम्हें, मैं क्या बोला, --- मैं भी रुखसत करके तुम को पहरे पर चढ़ जाता हूँ , --- हाँ पर मेरे देश बता क्या तेरा मैं कुछ लगता हूँ। वो जो मेरे संग जीते हैं , मरने का दम भरते हैं , और वतन पर मर मिटने का हर पल वादा करते हैं, उनको कुछ समझाऊँ क्या जब, खुद मैं समझ नहीं पाता, अपनों से क्यूं तिरस्कार, जब दुश्मन मुझसे डरते हैं, --- जो मुझको पहचान न पाए, मैं क्यूं उन पर मरता हूँ

Hope the govt applies its mind and not advice from anti military establishment. Govt has been writing off losses worth several thousands of crores of state machinery every yr. OROP IS PEANUTS. Even if it were a princely sum it deserves to be paid.

Shame on the government of India and on all those who are on forefront on raising their voices and pen on petty issues.

Please don't treat the men in uniform this way. If you can increase the pay of MPs in no time then why do you have to think so much for men who protect this great nation. Our troops are the ones who face the bullets so that everyone can sleep safely in their beds and when they die saving and protecting this nation their mother's, sons daughters wives sisters etc have to face this world alone. They die protecting the nation for others and this is how the gov treats them. Shameful....
