It is time for resident representation on our Summer Lakes Home Owners Association Board of Directors, which is currently 100% occupied by represntatives from Sam Yeager, Inc. - the Developer. As discussed in our January 2018 meeting, we are allowed by statute to have a representative on the HOA Board.

If you are a Summer Lakes resident (property owner or lease tenant) please sign the petition supporting this as it will be presented along with a demand letter requesting this change.

Here are my notes from the January 2018 Summer Lakes Meeting:

" Texas property code - Chapter 209 Section 3.3.1 (B) [Paraphrased] stipulates that if no percentage of ownership for transition of board is written into HOA bylaws then after a period of 10 years the HOA board makeup must be made of 1/3 resident/owners. So with a 3 member HOA Board - at least 1 of the board members must be a resident/owner. "

Greg Voinis (Sam Yeager Inc.) stated that they would have their attorneys review the statute and requirements and would entertain adding a resident/owner. " When pressed for a timeline Greg Voinis stated that they would have an answer back to the residents by January 2018 and that if a change is to be made it would take place no later than March 2018.
