Keep Dundee Safe - Stop the Farnam Street Roundabouts (Victory by unanimous vote!)

Having driven through this intersection many time, it seems difficult to believe that there is enough room to create a roundabout in this amount of space.

Two way, all day on Farnam and delay in light changes will solve the problem. Roundabouts would be a danger to foot traffic.

Dundee neighborhood is, and always has been, pedestrian friendly. It needs to stay that way.

Please do NOT alter Farnam St. that intersects with 52nd St and 50th St. We are the people of South Dundee and we very simply DO NOT WANT IT!!!! The changes made to the timing of the lights proves through its statistics that 70% of the problem has been solved!!!

Please keep Farnam safe for all Omahans

Can we try two way every day for a year and see if a roundabout is necessary? Why are we jumping to such an expense when we can’t even have Howard street replaced? Makes no sense!

I live at 53rd and Farnam. I am a strong supporter of making Farnam 2-way 24/7. I stopped taking Farnam home from work (downtown) because I had too many near head-ons. I also appreciate the lights being timed to decrease the egregious red light running at 50th and 52nd. However, I fail to see why we need to jump to the extreme round-abouts. Why can’t we give 2-way 24/7 a shot before taking such extreme measure? My assumption is that I will just never be able to enter Farnam from 53rd Street because if the perpetual east-west flow. I can barely get onto Farnam now and have to wait until the light at 52nd stops east-west traffic. Also, taking property from homes at those intersections is extreme. NO round-abouts! Let’s give 2-way 24/7 a chance.

I oppose the proposed roundabouts on Farnam St.

I live close to a round-about in Denver. It feels as if people speed up and drive faster. It’s very risky crossing at this intersection due to traffic speed. Please keep the current red lights and cross walk. I lived in this part of Dundee for a work project in 2020. The speed of traffic is dangerous for pedestrians. Please have the OPD set up speed traps on Farnam to change driver behavior.

I drive to/from work M-F on Farnam. Nearly every day I see someone headed the wrong way during the "one way" hours. Simple fix --- make it 2-way all day, every day. Simple and cost effective.

Founding Board member of DMPA. Two way Farnam all day makes the most sense. If left turn problems are the issue, then make the area no-left turn as is done on much of Dodge Street. Costs virtually nothing, and will make things much less confusing for all

Roundabouts don’t fit the character of the neighborhood or physical space available. Please leave Farnam St. as is.

It appears to be more cost effective to make Farnam Street 2-way ALL DAY instead of spending millions to add roundabouts. Stats on roundabouts do NOT show overwhelming remediation of the current problems. If the City is not convinced by public comments, why not try a 6-month 2-way ALL DAY experiment. If that doesn't improve the situation, then revisit possible solutions. Why waste $2 million?

Please make Farnam Street two way all the time with NO roundabouts.

I endorse most strongly all the contents of the letter to the city council members sent by the Dundee/Memorial Park Neighborhood Association. The roundabouts would be a senseless travesty, senseless in that a reasonable, comparatively cost-free alternative is readily available that would enhance the safety of the intersections.
