Oppose Statewide Property Taxes and State Control of Zoning

Don't we have enough state taxes already? Sales tax and income tax. What more do you want, our blood? . And what is the point of working hard all our life to get a house in a good neighborhood, if you going to degrade it with multi families and decrease the value.

Each town should decide how best to properly zone for its residents since the town , not the state, knows its residents the best. Also, the state does not need the statewide property tax---just another ploy to take our money and waste it.

The zoning authority should and must remain with the residents and not be relinquished to the people in Hartford who have no stake in the future of individual towns.

Defeat this bill.

Afflluent people have been leaving CT for other states for years. Taxes like this accelerate the process and reduce CT's competititiveness and tax base over the medium and long term

We must not pass these additional tax laws in CT.

I live in Stamford, Ct. You can’t even buy a condo for $300K. How do you feel this is a serious tax to add to the already distressed people of Ct? I am a hairdresser who was out of work for 3 months last year and whose business still has not recovered since that time.

Absurd. Instead of raising taxes, lower them on those who are less fortunate

I just bought a second home in Florida, and will sell my house in CT if this new tax passes... When I started my career, CT had no income tax. Now I pay 7% of my income, in addition to sales tax and property taxes. Trust me, this is the last straw... Get your act together and figure out a way to stop wasting money and run gov't more efficiently .

They need to have a better plan/execution of using our tax money. Keep raising tax won't fix the problem.

How can a $300,000 property be a “mansion”? Also, zoning should be left to the towns and cities. These bills are just an excuse to extract money for additional revenue, in order to justify increases in salaries of state officials.

Connecticut will lose many more residents.
