This would basically tax every homeowner in my town. We are not rich. We are middle class and like everyone else have taken a deep covid hit. I had to retire because of covid. As much as I’d like to help the state, this is making a great case for more in my situation to move to cheaper pastures.

Copying this as they couldn't have said it better:
No more lockdowns and free money for sitting home. Lets get to work. Do not finance bad decisions from pocket of owners of property and hard working people.

Taxation is not the answer. Balance the budget by reducing spending, NOT increasing taxes. Incentivize small businesses to return to CT to create job grow. How did higher taxes work out with GE in Fairfield and UBS in Stamford???

Definitely not in a mansion and still handle all of our own service (sewer and garbage removal).

No more taxes. How fiscal responsibility.

More taxes will drive more businesses and individual taxpayers out of this state. And these "elites" are the first to avoid paying their fair share.

It is unfair to people who have worked so hard to own homes in nicer regions to have to take on a tax specify for others who haven’t achieved that yet. It is biased and unfair.

Please drop these bills!

The assessed amount in this bill would put undue stress on middle class families as it is also the median price of a house in Connecticut.

The increase of taxes on so called mansions will create exodus from CT. Open up the state like Texas did and support small business. Provide more work and create job opportunities and this way you will create funds. It is time to go back to normal.

This is just another money grab by the State. You cannot continue to tax us out of your poor mismanagement of the resources you already have been provided. Start looking at cutting spending.

Keep zoning laws local. No one-size-fits-all!
CT is going down hill
