Dr. Frankel's house should be as it is, why are we known as "Old" Las Palmas. Maybe we should change to "Concrete Heaven" as my pal from Rhode Island phrased Orange County. Ronnie Eccard 780 Prescott, PS 92262

Absolutely ridiculous to demolish such a historical home. This is one of the reasons the area is called "Old Las Palmas.

Palm Springs needs to appreciate and value our historic architectural integrity and ensure that our traditional history be preserved! This home is unique and has always been viewed by our long time citizens as a city treasure. To bring it down for the profit of an outsider is morally wrong and will contribute to the decline of our cherished legacy of being a gem in the desert. Please vote NOT to allow its demolition but rather to preserve our home town feeling. There is too much "modern" construction in my city and it is not appreciated.

As someone who has spent a great deal of enjoyable recreation time (and, indeed, plenty of recreation dollars) in Palm Springs - but also someone who has grown up in and is deeply invested in a different destination community on the other side of the country, in the mountains of Vermont - one thing I've learned from both sides is that preserving history and authenticity is one of the most important things a community can do in order to attract growth, sensible new investment, and newcomers who will carry the area forward in a positive direction. Preserving unique features of a neighborhood is what makes it most desirable, and is key to improving property values and making the area a wonderful place where people really want to both visit and live.

This 1928 house has significant historic and architectural attributes and is important to the history of the city of Palm Springs. These facts alone should make it a no-brainer for Class One Historic Site designation and preservation.

I have been apart of many renovations in this area. I am a plumber, and have been a part of lots of remodels, especially doing all of Chris foster's work. Who is a well known contractor in the Palm Springs area. We were apart of the remodel next door to this residence and also the remodel of the first gay ambassador, which is just around the corner. I have worked on tens of homes in this area, but this residence is unlike any other. A residence that has been used for tv shows, a residence that shows the cultures of Palm Springs, and a residence that gives a custom home feeling for all those visitors driving by in the the buses to see movie star houses. I've spent a lot of time at this home, and its architecture it's like no other home. I believe it would be in the cities best interest to allow sum remodel to bring house up to date in the interior, but to leave exterior shell alone. There is plenty of room in back yard for a big casita, which is not visual from the street. Dr. Frankel, who owned this home for years, is a foundation for Palm Springs. He has given his life to this community, and deserves not only recognition for his career, but this home is what makes Palm Springs great. It's different, it's fun, it's Palm Springs!

This house is amazing, many stories from being a child. It is beautiful inside and out. Palm springs is about the older times, we don't live in LA for that reason. We like our antquies and our PS history.
